El Camino, Oatsvall Solve Escondido Slowdown for 69-67 Win : PALOMAR LEAGUE

Poway 82, Fallbrook 69--Mike Delaney scored 27 points for No. 4 Poway (17-4, 8-2), which led by just one point after the first quarter but opened up a nine-point lead at halftime. Mike West scored 27 points for Fallbrook (11-11, 4-5).

Torrey Pines 48, San Dieguito 34--San Dieguito played slowdown and held Torrey Pines' high-scoring forward Courtie Miller to four points, but the No. 1-ranked Falcons (24-1, 9-1) won anyway at home. Kevin Flanagan scored 20 points and Neil Pollard added 14 for Torrey Pines, which led only, 8-5, after one quarter and 22-14 at halftime. Jack Minger led San Dieguito (7-14, 1-8) with 12 points.

Vista 59, Orange Glen 57-- A fourth-quarter rally by Orange Glen (5-16, 0-9) fell just short at home. Vista (12-9, 5-5) led, 51-36, after three quarters but was held to 8 points in the final period while Orange Glen scored 21. Jeremy Scott scored 13 points for Vista. Bill McNeil led Orange Glen with 15.

METRO CONFERENCE

Chula Vista 61, Bonita Vista 44--Chula Vista bolted to a 23-2 lead after the first quarter and went on to defeat winless Bonita Vista (0-20, 0-12) at home. Chula Vista (10-16, 6-6) was led by James Shaw who scored 16 points and Scott Matney who had 15. Chris Peter scored 20 points to lead Bonita Vista.

Hilltop 79, Coronado 58--Mark Dirksen scored 28 points and Jon Moore added 17 to lead host Hilltop (12-13, 8-4) past Coronado. Freshman Chris White scored 10 points and had 12 rebounds for Hilltop, which led 41-32 at halftime. Jay Malott scored 27 points to lead Coronado (5-15, 3-9).
