Dale Douglass overcame high winds and cold temperatures Saturday to shot a three-under-par 69 and keep his lead after two rounds of the $300,000 GTE Suncoast Seniors tournament at Tampa, Fla.
Playing with 40 m.p.h. winds ripping across the Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club course, only two other golfers besides Douglass had sub-70 rounds.
Douglass, who shot a 67 Friday, was at 136, four shots ahead of Bob Brue, who had the day's best round, a 68.
Arnold Palmer and Gary Player shot 71s and were tied for third at 141 with left-hander Bob Charles, who had a second-round 69.
