Larry Shue's "The Foreigner" was such a hit for the Gaslamp Quarter Theatre Company last year that it's not surprising that the theater jumped at the opportunity to do the West Coast premiere of the late playwright's "The Nerd," now playing on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre. The Gaslamp version of the show will run July 20-30, replacing the Directors' Showcase and Simon Gray's "The Common Pursuit" on the regular Gaslamp Quarter schedule.
