Patrick Henry 59, Vista 47-- Vista led by four points after three quarters, but Patrick Henry outscored the Panthers, 24-8, in the fourth as guard Collis Hunt scored 15 of his game-high 21 points and guard Bart Brandenburg came off the bench to score all seven of his. Brandenburg, son of SDSU Coach Jim Brandenburg, hit a three-pointer with 5:05 remaining to give Patrick Henry a 42-41 lead. Herbie Weston led Vista (13-11) with 15. Ty McHenry had 13 and Terrence Hamilton 10 for host Patrick Henry (16-8).

Poway 73, Monte Vista 58--Five players scored in double figures as second-seeded Poway led from the start. Poway led, 21-11, after the first quarter and 63-43 after three. Gabby Awbrey was 7 of 9 from the field, scoring 16 points to lead Poway (19-5). Dave Delaney and Ty Nichols had 15 points apiece for Poway, and Adam and Jason Jones added 10 each. Scott Winne led Monte Vista 11-13) with 30 points.

Valhalla 94, Hilltop 62--Valhalla held Hilltop to 16 points in the first half on its way to a rout at Valhalla. Rafid Kiti scored 22 points and Tony Clark added 15 for the third-seeded Norsemen (16-7). Mark Dirksen was held to 10 points in the first half but finished as the game's leading scorer with 29 points. Valhalla led Hilltop (13-16), 49-16, at the half. Every varsity player scored for Valhalla.

Morse 112, Sweetwater 50-- Morse raced out to a 20-6 lead after one quarter and led, 43-21, at halftime. In the third quarter, Morse outscored Sweetwater, 43-7. Willie Davis led host Morse (17-9) with 36 and Marcus Combs added 22. Charles Starnes had 15, and Scott Catlin 14 for Sweetwater (12-13).

Mt. Carmel 67, Mira Mesa 54--Eric Olander scored 23 points to lead fourth-seeded Mt. Carmel (16-9). Chris Conrad added 15 points for Mt. Carmel, which led, 18-7, after the third quarter. Tal Miller led Mira Mesa (12-13) with 19 points.

Point Loma 74, Montgomery 63--Jeff Johnson and Beau Pack scored 15 points apiece to lead Point Loma (26-2). Paul Ssali scored 22 for Montgomery (13-9).
