Former "CBS Morning News" anchor John Hart, who joined NBC News in 1975, will leave the network April 1 to "explore new directions in his life," according to NBC News President Larry Grossman. Hart, 56, who covered the Vietnam War for CBS and returned to Vietnam for special NBC reports in 1985, has been a network newsman 23 years. He worked at KNXT-TV (now KCBS-TV) in Los Angeles in 1958-59.
