West Hollywood : Festivities to Mark Dedication

March 24, 1988

A sound and light show will mark the dedication Friday of the Pacific Design Center's second phase, the nine-story sculptured green building designed by architect Cesar Pelli at 8687 Melrose Ave.

The 7 p.m. show will feature a balloon 20 feet in diameter that will function as a screen for a series of projections, including the launching of a satellite and an aerial view of West Hollywood, organizers said.

The public may see the show from West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. The dedication is being held in conjunction with the city's annual Westweek festivities.
