Thank you for the article on 73-year-old Dino Hirsch ("War on Slums," Metro, March 24). The man is an inspiration in the meaning of responsible citizenship. His dedication in protecting low-income Latino tenants from slumlords helps make the Los Angeles rent adjustment system operate with justice for both landlords and tenants.
Tenants appear to be less motivated than apartment house owners in articulating their interests, needs and desires to city government. So we are fortunate to have Hirsch presenting the point of view of the tenants. He does so with clarity and compassion.
A truly good man.
