Iraqi warplanes penetrated deep into Iran to bomb two oil refineries, scoring direct hits and setting them both on fire, the official Iraqi News Agency said. It quoted an Iraqi military spokesman as saying that refineries at Esfahan, about 210 miles south of Tehran, and Tabriz, about 300 miles northwest of the Iranian capital, were bombed, and that one plane was lost in the raids. In Tehran, Iran's official Islamic Republic News Agency accused the Iraqis of bombing civilian targets near the refineries, killing at least 10 people.
