* An animated Mickey Mouse bestows the award for animated short.

* Oscar for documentary short.

* Oscar for documentary feature.

* The Oscar for editing.

* Jack Lemmon introduces director/producer/screenwriter Billy Wilder, the recipient of the Irving Grant Thalberg Memorial Award for Outstanding Production, the highest honor given by the academy. Wilder has more than 50 films and six Oscars to his credit. Some of his films: "Double Indemnity," "The Lost Weekend," "Sunset Boulevard," "Stalag 17," "Some Like It Hot" and "The Apartment."

* A medley of the nominees for original song, wrapped around Liza Minnelli and Dudley Moore: Willy DeVille sings "Storybook Love," which he wrote and performed for "The Princess Bride"; Starship with Gloria Estefan (Grace Slick can't be there) perform "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," from "Mannequin"; Jennifer Warnes and Bill Medley sing "(I've Had) The Time of My Life," from "Dirty Dancing"; George Fenton and Jonas Gwangwa, collaborators on the song "Cry Freedom," perform it, from "Cry Freedom," and Little Richard sings "Shakedown," from "Beverly Hills Cop II."
