A search is on for the occupants of a red Chevrolet Camaro after the driver of the car took two shots Wednesday at a San Diego police officer conducting a traffic check in Rancho Penasquitos.
Officer Arthur B. Tucker pulled the car, an early 1970s model, into a shopping center parking lot at Carmel Mountain Road and Paseo Cardiel at 5:20 a.m. because it had no license plate, Sgt. Anne O'Dell said.
