Nabisco Boycott Urged

April 17, 1988

So RJR Nabisco, the parent of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco, has a "philosophical difference" with its ad agency because the firm made a no-smoking commercial for an airline client.

Well, we consumers can play hardball, too. Let RJR take note that I have a "philosophical difference" with a tobacco company that is in the food business.

I will no longer purchase Life Savers, Oreos, Chips Ahoy!, Almost Home cookies or Care Free sugarless gum--or any other food product that is made by a tobacco company.
