Construction Will Begin on Burbank Site

May 01, 1988

Construction will begin Thursday on the $14-million Cusumano Plaza, a 68,600-square-foot mixed-use complex in downtown Burbank.

The three-building project, on 1st Street between Olive and Orange Grove avenues, will have a 61,600-square-foot office and retail building, a 7,000-square-foot restaurant and a 5-story parking structure when completed by next January.

A landscaped plaza will be the focal point of the complex. The 4-story office building will be sheathed in brown granite and have glass bands, with the first floor serving as a branch of American Savings & Loan.

The project is being developed by Burbank-based Cusumano Brothers Partnership.
