The editorial "Libraries and Gumshoes" (April 25) infuriates me. The title referring to the FBI agents as gumshoes shows no respect. Not all FBI agents just walk into libraries and ask questions of the librarians.
This article shows what the press thinks of the FBI, but I think FBI agents enjoy much more respect from the public than the press. At least the FBI is working to make this a better and safer nation. I don't think the press has the same objectives. I think The Times owes all FBI agents an apology.
Many FBI agents put their life on the line every day.
