Dennis Johnson, star guard for the Boston Celtics and a Pepperdine alumnus, was awarded the school's alumni Medal of Honor in a recent ceremony on the Malibu campus.

Holes in ones were recently scored at Los Angeles municipal golf courses by Bradley Lockerman of West Los Angeles at Woodley Lakes, Buddy De Vito of West Los Angeles and Erwin Klein of Woodland Hills at Penmar, Phillip Whinthrop of West Los Angeles at Rancho Park and Rima Bronte, Isaac Colton, Vince Labor and Adele Weiss, all of West Los Angeles, at Rancho's three-par course.

Dick Conti shot a 35 to win the A flight in the April tournament of the Penmar Men's Golf Club. Other flight winners and their gross scorers were Judd Vinicks, B, 39; David Gallagher, C; 39; Rocky Ferrandino, D, 43, and Burton Gold, temporary handicaps, 41.
