The UCLA women's athletic program was named the winner of the Knoxville Journal's national collegiate all-sport rankings.

The Bruins had a total of 112 1/2 points to 99 for runner-up Texas.

UCLA won the national championship in softball and finished in the top 10 nationally in track and field, gymnastics, tennis and swimming.
