Macmillan Inc. announced that a special committee of its board considered and again rejected Robert M. Bass Group's proposals either to acquire the publishing company at $73 a share or to participate in the firm's restructuring plan. Bass and Macmillan are set to face off Wednesday in Delaware Chancery Court, where a judge is expected to rule on Bass' request for an injunction to halt Macmillan's proposed reorganization. Bass announced last week that it had lined up loan commitments from four banks and would go ahead with its tender offer if the judge rules in its favor.
