In reading the story about Brooke Betz ("Zero Sympathy for One Young Driver," June 21), whose car was impounded by the authorities during a zero-tolerance raid in Santa Ana, I was struck by his comment "I know my rights were violated."
What about the rights of the decent, law-abiding people who live in neighborhoods where drug dealers wait on corners to peddle their poison to drive-up customers. What about the rights of the children who live where the drug pushers do their business; children who will lose the simple pleasure of walking down the sidewalk on a warm summer night, so people like Brooke Betz can drive down from the rolling hills of Yorba Linda and buy his pot while on the way to a party.
