Mexico is commemorating 100 years of commercial ties with Japan by sending an exhibit called "The Galleon of Acapulco" to two museums there. The exhibition, including 138 pieces, will be shown at the Moa Fine Arts Museum from Sunday through July 25 and at the Senday Museum Aug. 13-Sept. 7, officials announced. The exhibition marks the 250 years of commerce between Mexico and Asia from 1565 to 1815, when Spain controlled the Philippines as well as Mexico. Artifacts in the exhibit are of marble, porcelain and textiles.
