July 14, 1988|JOHN VOLAND | Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

A bout of bronchitis has felled 10,000 Maniacs lead singer Natalie Merchant, causing the band's coming Wiltern shows--scheduled for Monday and Tuesday--to be postponed until Aug. 23-24. The show's promoter said tickets purchased for the Monday show will be honored Aug. 23, and those for the Tuesday show are good for Aug. 24. If required, the tickets can also be refunded where they were bought.
