Like the landscape that whips by on their frantic Sunday drive from Chatsworth to Agoura Hills, the summer has been a blur for Steve Dailey and David Eggert. A blur of ballgames.
The two recent Ventura High graduates have been on the preferred list of nearly every all-star baseball game and summer league in Southern California. And they haven't turned down an invitation.
"I can't get enough," Eggert, a pitcher and outfielder, said. "I'm having a great time."
Eggert and Dailey, who are good friends, practiced from 9 a.m. to noon last Sunday at Chatsworth High with an all-star team consisting of players in the 805 and 818 area codes. From there they raced to Agoura High, where they joined the Ventura American Legion team for a 12:30 p.m. doubleheader.
In addition to Legion ball, both players were in three all-star baseball games this summer and Eggert also squeezed in the Ventura County all-star football game.
