The Santa Monica Museum of Art, a facility under construction in the former Edgemar Farms egg processing plant, will stage a tentative opening from 6 to 8 tonight featuring installations by David Bunn and Michael Brewster.
Bunn will present a piece called "Sphere of Influence" that promises to "investigate the raw museum space as both cartographic territory and as a sphere of influence," according to a press release. Brewster's sound piece, installed several weeks ago, "provides an interactive experience that has a palpable resonance."
The two works are part of a summer-long series of installations, performance art events and concerts, called "Previews: Art in the Raw at SMMOA." The museum is at 2437 Main St., Santa Monica.
