MORNING REPORT

August 16, 1988|JOHN VOLAND | Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

Unless pop stars need the money, they shouldn't endorse beer, says Huey Lewis of Huey Lewis and the News fame. "No, we're not going to do anything like that in the future," Lewis told the Associated Press, "If someone does it and donates the money to a worthy cause, I think that's OK. But I think when you're doing very well and you don't need the money and you endorse a product that you're not really into . . . as far as the artist, I lose them."
