The YMCA of Greater Whittier has for several years provided similar child care sponsored by its East Whittier branch and held at several campuses in the East Whittier City School District and Lowell Joint school districts. That program has had up to 300 children enrolled, Goodman said. This will be the first year for child care sponsored by the Uptown YMCA branch.
