The staff of the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission on Friday unveiled a network of 12 proposed freeway diamond lanes. Some of the lanes, which are limited to car pools and buses, are under construction. The plan is expected to be considered by the commission Oct. 26 for use in allocating highway funds over the next 12 years.
The recommended diamond lanes are on Century Freeway from Los Angeles International Airport to the 605 Freeway, Foothill Freeway from Pasadena to San Bernardino County, Harbor Freeway from the Artesia Freeway to downtown Los Angeles, Orange Freeway from the Pomona Freeway to Orange County, San Diego Freeway from the Marina Freeway to Orange County and the El Monte Busway on the San Bernardino Freeway, to be extended to downtown.
