WASHINGTON — President Reagan today presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom to eight Americans--two posthumously--and declared that "fighting for what you believe in is not only good, it's fun."

The nation's highest civilian award went posthumously to Commerce Secretary Malcolm Baldrige and international hotel owner J. Willard Marriott. The others presented the award were Broadway star Pearl Bailey, former Chief Justice Warren Burger, economist Milton Friedman, industrialist David Packard, labor figure Irving Brown and Jean Faircloth MacArthur, widow of Gen. Douglas MacArthur.
