Garfield, the animated cat who stars in a new hourlong special on CBS Tuesday ("Garfield: His 9 Lives"), will be returning to CBS in another month. Back from last year will be "A Garfield Christmas Special," in which Garfield spends the holiday on a farm. It will air Dec. 23. . . . Speaking of animated Christmas specials, one of the best returns Nov. 28 on CBS: "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas."
Robert Loggia plays the father of two sons who are working for competing interests in Chicago, in "The O'Connors," a TV movie that CBS is readying for broadcast. The sons are played by D.W. Moffett, who works for a building tycoon (Hal Linden), and Kyle MacLachlan, who plays a priest.
Lee Grant and Karl Malden will star as Marilyn and Leon Klinghoffer in "Sea of Terror," a TV movie for NBC about the 1985 terrorist hijacking of the cruise ship Achille Lauro. Also starring are E.G. Marshall, Christina Pickles and Vera Miles. NBC has slotted the film for airing during the February ratings "sweeps."
KTLA Channel 5's coverage of the Hollywood Christmas Parade on Nov. 27 once again will be anchored by Bob Eubanks and Lee Meriwether. They'll host the broadcast from 6 to 8 p.m., with Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows helming a pre-parade show from 5 to 6 p.m. Tony Danza of "Who's the Boss?" will serve as grand marshal of the 57th annual trek along Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards.
