I suppose a letter offering congratulations for a fine piece of writing should start with that favored yuppie term, kudos, but I refuse, since disgust with the baby boomers is why I'm writing. The values of an entire generation have been co-opted by "benefit" concert promoters, the producers of "real-life" films and television shows, advertisers, restaurateurs, and the list goes on. Perhaps the old dictum should be amended to read: "Never trust anyone who's "thirtysomething."
