In the aftermath of this week's disastrous fires, Los Angeles County Assessor John Lynch announced Friday the revival of a special disaster task force to help fire victims qualify for property tax relief.
Under the program, Lynch said owners of fire- or wind-damaged homes or businesses can report any destruction involving taxable property and request a reassessment form. A review of taxable property is allowed if it experiences at least $5,000 in damage because of a disaster, he said.
