Glasnost : TRUTH HELPS, TRUTH HURTS : Fictions From War, Rejections at Home Soviet fiction writer Tatyana Ivnitskaya wrote a series of short stories based on discussions with veterans of the Afghanistan campaign. She sent those stories to Yunost Magazine in Moscow, where consultant A. Bogoslovsky rejected her efforts. A group of Soviet veterans protested. Possev, an emigre publication in West Germany, published the stories and the responses in Russian. Si Frumkin, a Studio City reader of Russian-language publications, translated for The Times.
