Nation : Quayle Names Security Adviser

WASHINGTON — Vice President-elect Dan Quayle announced today that Carnes Lord, a former National Security Council staff member for President Reagan, will be his national security adviser.

The selection, which does not require Senate confirmation, means that Lord, 44, will serve as Quayle's primary adviser on national security matters and routinely will represent him at senior-level meetings and functions.
