Fernando Juarez will be installed today as the first Latino president of the American Institute of Architects' Los Angeles chapter.
Juarez is president of Los Angeles-based Fernando Juarez & Associates Inc., an architectural firm he formed in 1970.
Raymond L. Gaio of GAIO will be installed as chapter vice president. William H. Fain Jr. of Johnson Fain & Pereira Associates will be installed as the group's new treasurer, and Ronald L. Altoon of Altoon & Porter, secretary.
The dinner installation, which will begin at 7 p.m., will be held at the Los Angeles Music Center. Keynote speaker will be Sam Hall Kaplan, architecture critic for The Times.
