A bobcat that apparently had been struck by a car was found dead this morning on Los Alisos Boulevard near Cordova Road in Mission Viejo.
The 20-pound white-and-black animal was discovered by a passer-by.
"It's just one of those unfortunate things that happen to wildlife," said Jack Edwards, a spokesman for Orange County Animal Control. "He must have just gotten into the traffic."
