Pennsylvania House Votes for State Song

April 12, 1989|From Associated Press

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania House has voted to have a state song, "Pennsylvania," which would make the Keystone state the 49th state to have an official tune.

The House voted 135 to 59 for the measure Monday, sending it to the Senate. If approved, it would leave only New Jersey without an official state song, officials said.
