Culver City : Sign to Be Reconsidered

April 20, 1989

In response to a letter from the president of a company whose proposal for a pole sign was approved last month, the Redevelopment Agency agreed to reconsider its action.

Mitchell Mohr, president of Celluphone, in the 9000 block of Washington Blvd., explained in his letter that the sign as approved would be of no use to him. Mohr asked the agency to reconsider its requirements that he keep the words sales and service off the sign, and remove an existing sign from his building.

Pole signs have been a matter of contention in Culver City since last year. A citizens committee formed last year to revise the sign ordinance is expected to deliver a list of recommendations on pole signs to the City Council early next month.
