ANKARA, Turkey — Gunmen killed two people and wounded nine in an attack on a coffeehouse in the southern Turkish town of Nizip, close to the Syrian border, the state-run Turkish radio said Sunday.

Officials told the radio the attackers were members of an illegal organization but did not name the group. The semiofficial Anatolian News Agency said witnesses of the Saturday night attack heard the gunmen shout, "We shoot in the name of PKK"--the Kurdish Workers Party.
