The Board of Education of the Glendale Unified School District has ratified a contract granting teachers 22.7% pay raises over three years and has approved identical increases for district administrators.
The raises, approved Tuesday, include retroactive 8% increases in this year's salary, which will be sent in lump-sum payments to all employees next month.
The new contract was accepted last week by members of the Glendale Teachers Assn. after months of negotiations between union and district representatives.
As is typical in many school districts, raises granted to Glendale administrators were based on the teachers' contract.
Other school employees, including custodians, maintenance workers, nurses and counselors, were given new contracts this spring, which also provide 22.7% in raises over three years.
