An organizing official, Yuji Akiyama, said the yacht Future Shock arrived at Hakata in southwestern Japan at 12:13 a.m. with a race time of 31 days, 13 minutes, 50 seconds. The yacht stopped in Fiji and Guam after leaving Auckland, New Zealand.

Akiyama said that after all the racers arrive in Hakata, the winner will be determined using handicaps based on such factors as the size of each yacht.
