June 17, 1989|From United Press International

TOKYO — Japan's new foreign minister, Hiroshi Mitsuzuka, said Friday he will visit Washington from June 25-28 for talks with U.S. leaders to strengthen bilateral relations soured by trade friction.

It will be Mitsuzuka's first overseas trip since assuming the post earlier this month under new Prime Minister Sosuke Uno. He often made trips to Washington as international trade minister under Uno's predecessor, Noboru Takeshita.
