The San Francisco Giants swapped outfielders with Detroit, sending Tracy Jones to the Tigers for Pat Sheridan.

Sheridan, 31, a left-handed hitter, batted .242 in 50 games for the Tigers this year with three home runs and 15 RBIs.

Jones, 28, a right-handed hitter acquired by the Giants from Montreal in the off-season, was hitting .186 in 97 at-bats.
