California Amplifier Loses $123,000 in First Quarter

June 27, 1989

California Amplifier, a Camarillo producer of electronic components, reported a fiscal first-quarter loss of $123,000, compared with year-earlier net income of $116,000.

The loss in the three months that ended May 31 came on a 5% increase in California Amplifier's sales, to $2.4 million from $2.3 million.

Barry W. Hall, the company's chairman, said that despite the loss California Amplifier is in a stronger financial position than a year earlier. He said the company's debt has been reduced relative to the size of its assets and its stockholders' equity, or capital.
