WORLD : Deportation of Castro Foe Delayed

June 27, 1989| From Times staff and wire service reports and

MIAMI — Lawyers for the federal government agreed today to delay the scheduled deportation of anti-Castro militant Orlando Bosch until at least Sept. 13, a lawyer for Bosch said.

Bosch is fighting the decision by the Justice Department to deny him political asylum because of links to terrorist activities.

The deportation decision, announced last week, has outraged segments of Miami's large Cuban-American community. About 300 Bosch supporters protested the decision Monday, and his son William, 32, began a hunger strike.
