P.M. BRIEFING : Strikers Picket Homes of 3 Pilots

June 29, 1989| From Times wire services

MIAMI — Striking Eastern Airlines union members today unveiled a new tactic by picketing the homes of at least three pilots who have continued flying despite their union's nearly 4-month-old strike.

"We're going to do this every day at different homes," said Edgar Belaval, a striking Eastern pilot picketing this morning outside a flying pilot's home in southwest Dade County, Fla.

Eastern spokesman Robin Matell said in a message to employees: "Our striking pilots, flight attendants and (machinists) apparently lost all sense of decency today.

"Whatever happened to the notion that a man's home is his castle?.
