The Dallas Cowboys drafted University of Miami quarterback Steve Walsh with the second choice in the first round of the National Football League supplemental draft Friday, giving up their first-round selection in the regular 1990 draft to get him.
Atlanta had the first pick after a lottery was conducted, but passed. Green Bay, Detroit, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, San Diego and Miami all passed in the first round before Washington State quarterback Timm Rosenbach was selected by the Phoenix Cardinals and Alabama running back Bobby Humphrey was taken by the Denver Broncos.
The two quarterbacks and Humphrey were the only prime players to be drafted among the 12 eligible for the supplemental draft. Running back Mike Loman of Coffeyville (Kan.) Junior College was taken by Dallas in the 12th round.
