What a rip-off--the possibility of $35 a ticket to see the Rolling Stones in stadiums that have marginal sound quality and door seating.
It is clear from reading Paul Grein's June 25 Pop Eye column that the Stones are only in it for the money. These guys were practically worthless in the '80s. The Stones have not toured in years nor have they been musically productive this decade and much of the '70s. They can never sound like they did during their peak period. Only their nostalgic reputation precedes them.
As long as people get sucked into ticket-gouging practices, the prices can only go up. Soon it can become the standard for all big-name acts. I plan on skipping the Rolling Stones rip-off tour. They sound better on CD.
