Larry Stewart is wrong again when he says that Ronald Reagan "doesn't do well without a script."

Reagan's natural wit is legendary. He had no script when he delighted the nation with his quips after the attempt on his life in 1981, and he generally did well during his presidency answering hostile questions from journalists.
