In last year's state Assembly race, Carol Bentley properly chastised Gloria McColl for entering after promising she would complete her City Council term.
On Sept. 19, at election headquarters, "Bentley for Senate" signs were posted--several hours after the announcement that Larry Stirling would be resigning his state Senate position to become a judge in the Municipal Court.
Now, after eight months' experience in the state Assembly, and no previous experience in elected office, Bentley has a short memory about completing her commitment and intends to run for Stirling's Senate seat.
If that special election can be held quickly--and she wins--she will be able to get about three months' experience in the Senate before entering the governor's race!
