Call it a Western roundup for the '80s, if you will.
The city of Beverly Hills is sponsoring a roundup of household hazardous waste Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the parking lot at 341 N. Foothill Road, across the street from the temporary city library facility.
The roundup is exclusively for city residents, and identification will be required. Each resident may bring up to five gallons or 50 pounds of hazardous waste per visit. Items--such as household cleaners, automotive products (including batteries), pool acids, photographic chemicals, paint solvents, thinners, pesticides and herbicides--must be in their original, labeled and closed containers.
Radioactive materials, gas cylinders, asbestos and explosives will not be accepted.
