Beverly Hills Imposes Traffic Fee on Builders

October 08, 1989

Developers of commercial, industrial and multifamily residential buildings will be charged a traffic-mitigation fee under an ordinance that was tentatively approved by the Beverly Hills City Council last week.

The fee will be assessed according to the number of trips a building is expected to generate. Revenues would be applied to traffic reduction projects. If no amendments are incorporated, the measure will be formally adopted Oct. 17.
