Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill followed in terms of UC transfers, with Santa Barbara City College ranking third, according to a report recently released by the California Postsecondary Education Commission.

"The transfer figures are indicators of the quality of the work we do," said Marty Stiles, dean of matriculation and counseling at SMC. "Transfer placement to the University of California is the most difficult transfer in California. In addition, our students do well once they get there."

Most of the transfers go to UCLA.
