SINGAPORE — South Korea and North Korea scored victories today in the final Asia qualifying round for soccer's World Cup.

South Korea defeated China 1-0 on a goal by Kim Joo Sung in the 66th minute.

North Korea defeated Qatar 2-0. Kim Pung Il scored the first goal in the 24th minute and, seven minutes later, Chu Gyong Sik tapped in the second goal.

The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia also are participating in the final round.
